I love watching lightning streak through the purple gray sky just over the lights of the Atlanta skyline. It is dusk and the beginning of summer which means nightly thunderstorms that last for about 30 minutes. I have always liked storms- the lightning, the deep intense colors of the sky, especially the dark gray. It always makes me feel like something important or exciting is going to happen. These storms that often rumble with thunder and harmless heat lightning are my favorites. You get all the energy of a thunderstorm with just a short amount of rain. And if we are lucky, it is just enough to pull the humidity out of the sky. Ahh summer in the south, it’s finally here.
